Babaliah Loves Cuba
Cuban mix!!!
Gathering mostly son, guaguanco and north america
influenced grooves.
Funky or soulfull, from the vaults of Areito and
Siboney.
No early latin jazz or mambo here...
But 70's dancefloor shakes
and latin burners from the Island!
Hot!!!
Chaleur!!!

and early 70's Guadeloupe and Martinique. Back in 2009, I chose the name
of the mix to show respect to Hugo Mendez Compilation on Soundway. Here
are some classics and rarities from Guadeloupe, Martinique, Haïti and
Dominica. Biguine, Gwoka, Cadence, Latin, funk and disco. At the time, I
had just discovered how prolific and serious the musical production of
Guadeloupe and Martinique were, developped my co-citizens from the
"french" west indies. By then I have been diggin a lot into those
musical treasures. I think of other volumes...
